![]() 6 I'd wait with until it gets cheaper and some expansions have been released for it. I'm just trying to decide if I want both or just one of them for now. CIV 6 is the one that takes the longest to learn even for old school players who played 4 and 5.ĬIV 6 would be one of the three games for the remote island I would take with me, it wouldn't be CIV4 :-)Ĭivization 6 runs slower on large maps even with your specs? Religion is a tad stressy though, but once you get the hang of it and know how stuff works (especially district placement, huge bonuses there when planned and done right) it starts to shine. Loved every minute of that game which toke about 30h alone. I just finished a game with largest pangea map on highest difficulty (I lost to a cultural superior enemy, but it was damn close, my nukes couldn't cut it at the end especially since I got nuked 4 times myself - damn those germans). Since most of the bugs are out since the last patch it really is a joy to play.īut it's demanding on your PC, late game rounds often take several minutes for the AI to complete (i7 6700K / GTX 1070) on large maps. If I had to advice a new player to CIV I would say get 4 and move on to 6 later on. It's well balanced (speaking of highest difficulty since I don't play anything else), war means war, all is well done. I loved 4, 5 was kind of okish, and currently 6 nails it. I played every Civ since the beginning of mankind. He often makes good use of his Civs Unique Ability and Unique Units by conquering other Civilizations early. Yeah I'd probably wait on 6 since like you said I could get a lot more for the same or less money. 4: 6: 5: 6: 6: 5: 4: 7: 5: 6: 6: 8: Other Info: While hes no Shaka, Augustus Caesar can be a real jerk in most games. That might change once some expansions are released, but that's kind of how it goes with Civ games. Also, by the time expansion packs are out for Civ 6, the price on the base game will have dropped. Also, I noticed in the reviews for Civ 6 that many people still prefer Civ 5 at this time. I would do that, instead of getting Civilization 6. Right now, I think you can get both Civilization 4 and 5, the complete editions, for less than a third of the price of Civilization 6, on Steam. 5 is more graphically-polished, but it might also be a bit simpler than 4. 4 might be the most in-depth of them, but maybe somebody else can confirm that, because I haven't played it in a while. and 6 is probably also the same.Ĭivilizations 3, 4, and 5 are all good, and you can't really go wrong with either 4 or 5. ![]() It was the same for Civilization 3, 4, 5. ![]() About the only time I get conquest is when I take a bunch of vassals without taking too much of their land, so I stay under the domination limit until I cap the last civ. The tradition with Civilization games is that they release with relatively very little content, compared to their final states, after a couple of expansion packs. Domination is the natural victory type for most warmongering games, on normal-sized maps at least. ![]()
